The Life of a Homeless Person

I wake up on a side walk like many do. Wet when it rains. A cold when freezing.

Pack my gear. Some mornings my fingers are so cold I cant tie a knot. Pick up my gear. Begin to wander , people assume, aimlessly as I dont have a job or home.

If yer in the service and reading this trash. Put it down to ,Education through school of hard knocks. I tell you Fuckingstay the fuck in. at least you got three hot meals and a cot in a warm room guaranteed.

Ill fuckin trade you your cushy military life. For mine any day the fuckin week.Stay in make them carry you out the gate.

I wander. Toward the park. Lately it has been Mc Phearson square. First ill stop and have coffee. Just like you heading to your Bignamed office. To slave away for the corporate system of slavery. Feeding aqt the troughs of the mightyassed morons who keep me and over a million people in poverty hell were the . point99percent.

I walk in. after putting my gear down outside the store.in a window where I can see it.

Get innline with you.

You will scrunch your nose. And look at me askance. Don't think I dont see. Hey just because I dont have a shower every day dnt mean I aint people too!

Some will put on a false smile like they are glad to see me. Standing in the great equalizer . A coffee lin

It does not matter whether you are prince or pauper you have to wait to be served.

And you think I stink? I cant breathe with all the perfume in the place. They even spray scented arasol around. Try that with empyasema.

Finaly Hi may I help you?” the countrer person asks. Smiling from behind a fake corporate mandated smile.

Large coffe please I say. They make me pay before they pour. Others its on the way before they pay.

Thenn handing it to me thank you for buying this corporate crap. She says from behind her corporate smile. And french accent.

I turn walk out the door and take a deep breath of fresh air. Set out in the warm morning summer air. To drink my coffee.

Setting for a few minutes first to watch the young girls walk by. Wiggling wonderfullly in short skirts and low tops. Running by with boobs bouncing teasing everyman nearby.

I drink my coffee. Pull out my laptop. Start writing.

I work in the mornings. After coffee. My job is unusual. Im a panhandler.

I set down on my rold up sleeping bag looking at the first person going by.

“ Hey can you spare some change?” I ask. Fit.Office suit type outThe woman wearing a high hemed skirt and low collar top showing lots of cleavage. Not unusual because of the three hotls close by.

“No cash. “o during see a panhandler and pull out their cellphones where I can see them. And hold it to their ear. Not even pretending to dial. Then say

“Im on the phone” just to ignore me. As they walk by.

Then during lunch. the workers. will walk by me with expensive meals stuffing their ugly faces with hamburgers and steak as they poass. Laughing at me. I even have one woman who almost daily would stick her finger down her throat puke and say eat that if your hungry.

I get people spitting on me. Throwing things. Handing me garbage they pull out of the trash. Even a fecis sandwich one time. “here eat this” say the blcks and Imagrants in DC.

Here white boy they say handing a couple cents. Like im less a man than they are?

Why don't I get a job?

Because there are no jobs to be had. If you dont speak a forignn language to talk to the boss. Even McDonalds is not hiring unless you speak spanishnhere in dc.

Finaly I get enough money . I go eat lunch.

And then finaly make it to the park .

Where ill meet with other homless people ,Smoke a joint. And get bummed off by others. and I will figure out what to do during the day. To keep me out of trouble. Wich is actuly quite hard to do when you are homless.

Some days it seems if you pick your nose . These people.call the cops. I mean howmany times have people pulled out their cell phones and caslled the cops for me rolling a ciggerette? I cant recall.

And let some woman come up being friendly. . I take her up on the friendly. And suddenly. Im a deviant.

These working people think we are all crazy and retards.

How many times have I been asked where is the liquor store? By tourists. To have a smart ass say what did I tell you all you have to do is ask a bum”

Just because we are forced by the economy to live outside the law a abnormal lifestyle. I m ridiculed.

My main reason for hanging out in McPhearson Square. is to maintain occupy.

Myselfe and Paul are the two people who have been keeping the square held by occupiers since the raid by the cops in feb 12.

Last winter was a relativly warm winter thank goodness. Usualy it is super cold here in dc.

Many people choose this time of year. to go to shelters.

very crowded. Almost liike warehousing. The people. . Wich the city does provide occassionaly. Now with the economy on a downward spiral the comunities are not able to fund the places as they have in past years.Though most people dont go there . The crime rate is higher. You are less likely to have your belongings. When you wake up at 630 am. At any shelter. To be kicked out in the cold. By the staff. Who unlike you. The Client. are paid to watch over you, make shure your belongings are safe. and are the most likely cause ive come to belive over the years of most of the thefts. From the clients. ( I am not sying all the staff are corupt just many. Ill also aqgree many are committed y my fellow homeless. ) Others because of safty choose to sleep out on the streets. I am one of these.people personaly.

It is these people I choose to share their stories. And concerns. With you. As we together travel across the USA in this time of revolt!

Just because im heading south does not meanni cant get back to washington if my friends want me.

Now ladies and gents ill be leading a halloween photo walk. Point and shoots only no hogslegs.

You know those big things people who want to impress you with the size of their wallet carry.

Meet at the park by the gas station on M street inngeorge town 4pm.

See you at the Georgetown halloween party.IMG_0001 (3)
